Bonobo is an independent TTRPG publisher producing tabletop roleplaying scenarios and dark fiction in both Turkish and English. It grows in two directions: Bonobo Press on one side, and Bonobo Magazine on the other.
Bonobo Press publishes original scenarios for tabletop roleplaying games, with a particular focus on Call of Cthulhu and DCC RPG. We believe the stories that unfold around the table deserve the same care and craft as any literary work. For this reason, our scenarios are tightly constructed, atmospherically written, and designed to leave something behind long after the dice are put away. Content is published in Turkish or English depending on the audience and the need — because good work should reach the people it was made for.
Collaboration is part of how we work. Our proudest example is the Turkish translation of the DCC RPG Quick Start Guide, produced in partnership with Goodman Games. The system had found its way to Turkish players, but the language barrier kept it at arm’s length for many. Making a beloved game not just technically available but genuinely accessible — that felt like publishing at its most meaningful. More surprises of that kind are on the way.
Bonobo Magazine follows the darker currents of horror, science fiction, and fantasy literature. Through essays, criticism, fiction, and royalty-free translations, we bring texts to Turkish readers that might otherwise remain out of reach — works that deserve an audience beyond the language they were written in. Translation, for us, is an act of literary hospitality. A great story belongs to everyone who can receive it.
Ultimately, Bonobo is not a platform. It is a publisher’s voice — deliberate, independent, and built for the long game.
